Great Barrier Reef Tours
The passing of Cyclone Jasper over our part of the tropical Far North Queensland coast in mid December caused severe widespread flooding and work is still ongoing to repair damage to the road accessing Cape Tribulation.
We are, however, excited to say that roadwork project management has informed us that Cape Tribulation Road will soon reopen, subject to weather and traffic conditions, with some restrictions on vehicle access*. (*see note below).
Based on this information, Safari Lodge and Turtle Rock Café will reopen on 28th March 2024 and our Ocean Safari Great Barrier Reef Experience will recommence on 30th March 2024.
In allowing for additional travel required due to roadworks and road conditions, Ocean Safari will operate one tour daily at the amended tour time of 10am - 2pm until 31 May, then will recommence the two regular tour times as normal thereafter. And as an reopening celebration special, you’ll receive 10% off per person for travel until 31 May 2024! For more information, visit our Ocean Safari Mid Morning Great Barrier Reef Experience page.
And why not stay longer in the Daintree with an overnight at Safari Lodge and a delicious breakfast with great coffee at Turtle Rock Cafe?! Turtle Rock Cafe will be open 7 days per week from 7:30am to 3:00pm and the Safari Lodge office will be open from 8:00am to 4:30 pm.
We look forward to seeing you in Cape Tribulation to visit our amazing World Heritage Daintree Rainforest and Great Barrier Reef soon! 🌴🐠

* Road conditions: Road access, including Noah Range, will be open from 27 March, 6am - 6pm daily. Road limit of 16tonne and 12.5m. Please factor in additional 20-30 minute travel time to allow for roadworks and road conditions. Road openings remain weather dependant and may be subject to closure due to excessive rainfall.
