Ocean Safari reef adventures
Ocean Safari is a small-group adventure aboard a rigid inflatable vessel carrying up to 25 passengers. The journey from Cape Tribulation to Mackay Reef takes approximately 25 minutes, depending on conditions.
We board directly from the beach, with no marina or boarding pontoon. Guests must be able to walk across sand, wade through shallow water and use the boarding ladder.
Seating includes designated seats at the front and rear of the vessel and seating on the inflatable pontoons. Guests must maintain three points of contact while seated and follow crew instructions.
Before booking, please consider:
- The vessel cannot accommodate passengers who need to remain in their wheelchair.
- We welcome guests of all swimming abilities, with flotation devices available for those who need them.
- The skipper may restrict or refuse water entry if conditions are rough or participation is considered unsafe.
- Please discuss any mobility, balance or support requirements with our team before booking.
Staying at Safari Lodge
Safari Lodge offers eight powered campsites, 18 unpowered campsites and eight cabins, including five with air conditioning and ensuite bathrooms. Shared facilities include a camp kitchen, swimming pool and amenities block.
Each cabin has a designated parking space nearby and three steps up to its deck. The driveway can be uneven in places, which may affect guests using wheelchairs, mobility aids or prams.
Please review the accommodation photographs, access measurements and walking distances in our guide, and contact us to discuss which option may suit your needs.
